I help spearhead our audience development strategy with a focus on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Audience Development Strategist, Off-platform (2022)

I manage Wirecutter’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. I schedule content daily on social media, shoot and edit social videos, and foster community by leading our engagement efforts through conversations with our readers. I’m also responsible for curating bi-weekly data reports to ensure we’re on track to meet our KPIs, and make data-backed decisions.

(2019 – 2021)
I manage all of the Dallas Morning News’ social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I also create newsletters, implement strategies to maximize readership, foster online conversations in Facebook groups, and design engaging graphics for our Instagram accounts.

Web and Social Producer at Austin American-Statesman
(2018)
I managed all of the Statesman and Austin 360’s social media accounts. While there, I took the lead on Facebook live streams, collaborating across the newsroom from the planning to execution phase. I also designed graphics for social and adopted SEO strategies newsroom wide to enhance the newsroom’s engagement plan.

Breaking News Reporter at Victoria Advocate
(2016)
I worked on the night desk covering crime and the cops beat in Victoria, Texas. I leveraged Facebook live to update community members on breaking events and wrote several stories a day. In addition to breaking news, I wrote 3 to 5 features a month focusing on people within the community — particularly people of color.

(2015-2019)
I worked on the night desk covering crime and the cops beat in VictoriaI did a little bit of everything at The Shorthorn. I started as a reporter, before being news editor and editor in chief. I reinvented the newsroom’s approach to spot news and created its first breaking news plan. I managed our daily online editorial strategy and weekly print edition. My last semester, I became the engagement editor. There, I created a digital and social media plan from scratch, managed a newsletter with 60,000+ subscribers and launched UTA Unfolded — a Q&A reader-lead engagement initiative.
